Cameron's Trumpet Solo

At the 5th grade band concert this week, Cameron played a trumpet solo, "New World Symphony", and I accompanied him on the piano. It was fun to play with him, and he did a great job.

Great Wolf Lodge

Great Wolf Lodge!

We spent 2 days at Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound, WA this week. This time we went with several families from Duvall so it was fun to see friends around the water park and hotel.

We stayed in a Kids Cabin, so our room had a log-cabin feel to it. There was a room just for the kids with a bunk bed, another twin bed and their own TV.

The water park is a lot of fun - there are places for big kids to play and places for little kids to play. Jared LOVED going down the River Canyon Run water slide. You sit in a raft-type inner tube. Jared (and Drew) went down it 26 times over 2 days. There are 91 steps to the top, so needless to say, Jared's legs were pretty tired!

The kids also ran around the hotel for hours playing MagiQuest. There are wands, clues and quests to complete. All 3 boys are now Master Magi.
And Megan loved this ice cream truck in the arcade.

All I want for Christmas is my 2 Front Teeth!

Okay, Christmas is a long ways off, but Jared lost his bottom two front teeth - one last night, and the other one this morning! So cute! I'm sure by Christmas he won't be toothless any longer. I wonder if the tooth fairy will think Jared is trying to fool her when he puts the second tooth under his pillow tonight!

Jared Loves Megan

Jared loves Megan, a lot. I took this picture for Mother's Day - aren't they cute!

When Aunt Susan lived with us, she taught Jared to "rub in her kisses" to make them stick. Every time Megan takes a nap, Jared gives Megan a hug and a kiss, and rubs it in, just like Aunt Susan taught him to do. So cute!

P.S. Jared lost his first tooth tonight! Pictures will come soon! He's so excited about the Tooth Fairy coming tonight - he can hardly go to sleep!

And the winner is...

Not Ryan! But he still had a good time at the Pinewood Derby this week. His car, named "Bullet Bill" after a character in Super Mario, won the "Sportiest Car" award. After some technical difficulties, Drew got the software and track working so the races could begin and everyone had a good time - only a few boys ended up in tears because their cars didn't win. This is the 4th year in a row for Pinewood Derby cars at our house - 4 more to go (although we will get 1 year off between Ryan and Jared).
